(Translation: Christian IV by God`s grace King of Denmark, Norway, the Wends and the Goths)
Reverse description Equestrian portrait of King Christian IV on horseback prancing to the right, the ruler depicted in full armor. The central equestrian group is encircled by a ring of fourteen heraldic shields of the Danish realm's constituent territories, divided at the top by a royal crown and at the bottom by an elephant — the badge of the Danish Order of the Elephant. The composition reflects the grand dynastic imagery common to large Scandinavian gold multiples of the early 17th century. A Latin motto legend runs along the outer margin.
