| Obverse lettering | CHRISTIANVS IIII D G DANIÆ NORV VAND GOTO Q REX (Translation: Christian IV by God`s grace King of Denmark, Norway, the Wends and the Goths) |
| Reverse description | Equestrian portrait of King Christian IV on horseback prancing to the right, the ruler depicted in full armor. The central equestrian group is encircled by a ring of fourteen heraldic shields of the Danish realm's constituent territories, divided at the top by a royal crown and at the bottom by an elephant — the badge of the Danish Order of the Elephant. The composition reflects the grand dynastic imagery common to large Scandinavian gold multiples of the early 17th century. A Latin motto legend runs along the outer margin. |
