| Obverse description | Half-length armored effigy of King Christian IV facing right, wearing elaborate period dress with ruff collar and mantle, holding a scepter in his right hand and an orb in his left. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the Renaissance style typical of early 17th-century Danish coinage. A circular pearl or beaded inner border separates the effigy from the surrounding Latin legend. The coin features a milled or rope-twist edge characteristic of large Danish gold multiples of this reign. |
