| Descrizione del dritto |
A detailed panoramic view of the Munich cityscape dominates the field, featuring the prominent twin onion-domed towers of the Frauenkirche at center, flanked by the tower of the Altes Rathaus to the left and additional church spires to the right, all set above a rendered rooftop skyline. At the base of the city view, within a shield-shaped cartouche, appears the Munich Kindl (the city's heraldic monk figure) in frontal pose. The dates 1158 and 1958, marking the city's 800th anniversary, are inscribed in the lower field to either side of the shield. The Latin legend IN HONOREM CIVITATIS MONACENSIS arcs along the upper periphery. |

| Descrizione del rovescio |
A large ornate cross fleury with elaborately branching foliate arms radiates from a central circular medallion inscribed X DUCAT, occupying the majority of the field in a highly stylized decorative design. The cross arms terminate in flame-like and leaf-like projections, lending the composition a distinctly Renaissance character. The fineness mark 980 appears in the lower exergue beneath the cross. The surrounding legend, divided between the upper and lower periphery, reads AVORUM NON MORITURA VIRTUS above and AUREUS MAGNUS below, separated by small rosette stops. |
