正面描述 The coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia occupies the central field, depicting a quartered heraldic shield bearing Mount Ararat with the ark of Noah, an eagle, a lion, and a sword and sceptre on the respective quarters. The shield is supported by a displayed eagle to the left and a lion rampant to the right, with crossed sword, feather, sheaf, and chain at the base. The Armenian legend ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆ (Armenia) is inscribed in large characters along the lower periphery.

附加信息

Armenia's first post-Soviet coinage series was introduced in 1994, three years after independence, as the dram replaced the Soviet ruble following its collapse. The aluminium alloy chosen for this denomination was a practical concession — the new republic's economy was in crisis, partly due to the ongoing conflict with Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh, which had devastated trade and infrastructure since 1988.
