Obverse description The obverse displays the Singapore Arms of State at center, featuring a shield bearing a crescent moon and five stars, supported by a lion on the left and a tiger on the right, all rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. A ribbon below the shield bears the national motto MAJULAH SINGAPURA in Latin lettering. The legend SINGAPURA arcs across the upper field, with SINGAPORE along the lower periphery; the country name also appears in Chinese characters (新加坡) to the upper right and in Tamil script (சிங்கப்பூர்) to the upper left. The date 1990 is inscribed in the lower field beneath the coat of arms.
