Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features a centrally placed inset medallion bearing the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau, depicting a traditional scene with figures and marine imagery. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper periphery of the medallion, with the series name RAINBOW'S END and the denomination 10$ inscribed in the lower field. The surrounding totem pole-shaped planchet forms the broader visual context, with the date 2018 incused in the lower portion of the field below the medallion. The antique finish lends a matte, aged appearance to the entire surface.

Aanvullende informatie

Palau has operated a prolific commemorative program since the late 1990s, licensing its minting authority to European producers — primarily the Austrian Mint and various private minting houses — to generate foreign currency revenue. The country itself has no independent monetary policy, operating entirely on the US dollar for domestic transactions. These collector issues never circulate on the islands.

KM#806 is part of a broader totem pole series targeting the collector market, produced well outside Palau's geography and with no connection to Pacific Islander cultural traditions — totem poles being a Northwest Coast Indigenous American art form.
