The "Oppose Any Foe" series was issued by the Marshall Islands Postal Service, which held authority over the republic's commemorative coinage program throughout the 1990s — an arrangement that generated hundreds of collector-targeted issues with virtually no circulation. This piece commemorates the 35th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's inaugural address, specifically the "bear any burden, oppose any foe" passage delivered January 20, 1961.
