| Obverse description | Black intaglio-style engraved border surrounds the note with ornate guilloche work and corner medallions bearing the year 2001. At upper centre, the issuer title 'CHATHAM ISLANDS / NEW ZEALAND' appears in bold letterpress above a central vignette of a colour-printed albatross head set against a multicolour rosette guilloche underprint, with the denomination 'TEN DOLLARS / ONE THOUSAND CENTS' overprinted in large type.
