背面描述 The reverse features a finely detailed low-relief depiction of the Messerschmitt Me 262A-1a Schwalbe, the world's first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft, shown in dramatic three-quarter perspective in the foreground as it banks over a landscape below. A second Allied bomber aircraft is visible in the upper background field, conveying an aerial combat scene. The legend ME 262A-1a SCHWALBE arcs across the upper portion of the field in two lines, and the denomination 10 DOLLARS appears in two lines at the lower right of the field.

附加信息

The Me 262, the world's first operational jet-powered fighter, entered Luftwaffe service in 1944 after Hitler's insistence on configuring early production models as bombers delayed deployment by critical months — a decision that almost certainly cost Germany its only realistic chance of air superiority in the final war years. The A-1a designation denotes the pure interceptor variant, armed with four 30mm MK 108 cannons.

The Marshall Islands issued commemorative brass dollars throughout the 1990s at a pace that flooded the novelty market, and most examples remain in essentially uncirculated condition simply because they never functioned as currency.
