Liberia's commemorative program around the millennium was prolific to the point of excess — the country issued dozens of themed silver pieces through foreign mints, primarily targeting the collector market rather than domestic circulation. Most were produced by the Pobjoy Mint or similar contractors with no meaningful connection to Liberia itself.

KM#476 is one of several hundred types from this era, few of which ever touched Liberian soil.
