| Reverse description | The reverse is printed entirely in green intaglio and features a central allegorical vignette of Columbia standing in full figure, holding a flag and a shield, set against a background harbour scene with steamships at sea. The vignette is framed by elaborate scrollwork and acanthus-leaf ornaments, with large denomination counters reading TEN and numeral 10 at each corner. A legal tender clause in small text runs along the lower border, and a Roman numeral X appears at bottom centre within a decorative cartouche. |
