Descrizione del dritto	Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, after the portrait model by Arnold Machin, occupying the central field. The Queen's hair is elaborantly styled and adorned with a tiara, with delicate curls falling to the neck. The encircling legend reads COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS along the upper periphery, and ELIZABETH II along the lower periphery, both separated by dot stops. A beaded inner border frames the entire design.

Descrizione del rovescio	A fully rigged three-masted carrack under sail occupies the central field, depicted in fine relief navigating stylized waves; the sails bear prominent cross pattée devices and a heraldic flag flies from the mainmast. The design commemorates Bahamian independence and evokes the age of European maritime exploration. The legend INDEPENDENCE 10 JULY 1973 arcs along the upper periphery, while 10 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower periphery, both separated by dot stops. A Franklin Mint mintmark appears below the central design, and a beaded inner border encircles the entire composition.
