| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse presents the Fijian coat of arms in high relief at center, flanked by two indigenous Fijian warriors in traditional dress serving as supporters. The shield displays the Cross of St. George with a British lion passant in the first quarter and sugarcane, coconut palm, dove, and banana motifs in the remaining quarters. A British lion above the shield serves as the crest, while a Fijian canoe occupies the base. | Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features an intricately rendered Gothic mandala design in high relief, inspired by the rose windows of medieval Gothic cathedrals. The composition radiates symmetrically from a central circular aperture inlaid with a mother-of-pearl insert, surrounded by concentric rings of pointed lancet tracery, trefoil and quatrefoil motifs, and interlocking circular medallions. The elaborate filigree-like lacework fills the entire coin field to the rim, creating a deeply sculpted, three-dimensional effect with antique finish enhancing the relief contrast. The overall pattern recalls the ornate stone tracery of Gothic ecclesiastical architecture, rendered here in fine .999 silver. |
