The Basilica of the Assumption of Mary and Saints Cyril and Methodius in Velehrad, Moravia, is one of the most significant pilgrimage sites in Central Europe — Cyril and Methodius having devised the Glagolitic script in the 9th century and evangelized Greater Moravia, making Velehrad the symbolic heart of Slavic Christianity.
