| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts a large locomotive driving wheel rolling along railroad tracks, rendered in bold relief as a symbolic allusion to President Harry S. Truman's celebrated 1948 whistle-stop campaign, during which First Lady Bess Truman played an active supporting role. The design conveys movement and determination through the strong diagonal lines of the tracks receding into the background. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM arc around the upper portion of the design, while the denomination $10 and the specifications 1/2 Oz. .9999 FINE GOLD appear in the lower field. |

Bess Truman was the last of the First Spouse gold series subjects who never granted a formal interview during her lifetime — famously press-averse, she reportedly burned decades of personal correspondence with Harry at her request before her death in 1982. The series itself was authorized under the Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005, with bullion versions struck alongside proof issues for each subject.
The 2015 issues covering the Truman administration were among the lower-mintage entries in the series, consistent with declining collector demand that plagued the program through its later years.
