Sierra Leone has no meaningful connection to Osiris, the Egyptian god of the dead and resurrection. This is a bullion-adjacent collector piece issued under a longstanding arrangement where the Republic of Sierra Leone licenses its name and sovereign authority to foreign distributors — primarily European and Asian minting houses — who produce themed series with no relation to Sierra Leonean history or culture. The practice is entirely legal and has generated dozens of such issues under the Sierra Leone name since the early 2000s.
