| Reverse description | The reverse features a bold colored blue arc at the top of the field bearing the legend ECU in raised lettering, flanked by a ring of twelve five-pointed stars referencing the European Community. The word GREECE is prominently inscribed in large raised letters across the center of the field. To the lower left, a helmeted male bust — evoking a classical Greek warrior or historical figure — is depicted in relief, while to the right stands a detailed rendering of the Parthenon, the ancient Athenian temple on the Acropolis. The denomination $10 appears within an oval cartouche at the base of the design. |

Liberia's early 2000s ECU series was a collector-targeted novelty issue with no monetary function — these pieces were struck for the international souvenir market, not Monrovian commerce. Greece's inclusion references its ancient coinage traditions and its 2002 accession to the euro, which rendered the drachma obsolete after roughly 2,700 years of continuous use. The drachma's final official exchange rate was fixed at 340.75 to one euro.
