Above the effigy, a gilt medallion bearing the crowned royal cypher EIIR is prominently placed at the top of the field. The date inscription 3 February - 1 April 1954 arcs along the upper border, commemorating Queen Elizabeth II's historic Wattle Tour of Australia. Below the effigy, the curved inscriptions read Queen Elizabeth II Wattle Tour Australia, with a farewell quotation curving around the lower field: And now I say goodbye - God be with you - Until next time I can visit Australia. The denomination TEN DOLLARS appears in the lower exergue, separated by a dentilated inner border. |
