| Opis awersu | The obverse displays the full coat of arms of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas prominently in the central field. The shield, quartered with a rising sun above a sailing ship, is supported on the dexter by a marlin and on the sinister by a flamingo, both rendered in fine relief. Above the shield rises an elaborate helm and mantling surmounted by a conch shell crest, while below a scroll bears the national motto FORWARD UPWARD ONWARD TOGETHER. The circular legend COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 1984 positioned in the lower field, all enclosed within a beaded border. |
