正面描述	Printed in olive-green and black on cream paper, the obverse carries the Royal Arms vignette at centre, flanked by denomination panels reading "$10" at upper left and right. The issuer title "THE CHARTERED BANK OF INDIA, AUSTRALIA & CHINA" runs in bold letterpress across the mid-field, above a manuscript promise-to-pay text reading "Promises to pay the Bearer on Demand at its Office here TEN DOLLARS or the equivalent in the Currency of the Island, Value received." Chinese characters appear along both vertical margins and along the lower border, with serial number "No. 5451" repeated at upper left and right, and the place and date "HONGKONG" and "10th March 1862" inscribed in manuscript.

背面描述	The reverse is printed in rose-red and carries a large central guilloche medallion bearing the numeral "10" within a circular band inscribed "CHARTERED BANK OF INDIA, AUSTRALIA & CHINA"; the medallion is surrounded by an elaborate engine-turned lathe-work pattern of interlocking rosettes and lozenge ornaments that fill the entire field. A small floral rosette ornament appears at the centre left, and Chinese manuscript annotations are visible at upper left and right margins.
