| 正面描述 | The quartered coat of arms of Andorra, flanked by two ornate laurel branches, occupies the central field with the denomination '10 D' inscribed below. The circular legend around the rim reads 'JOAN . D . M . BISBE . D'URGELL . I . PRINCEP . D'ANDORRA', identifying the Co-Prince Joan Marti i Alanis as Bishop of Urgell and Prince of Andorra. The date '1999' appears at the base of the design. The coin is struck in proof finish, giving the fields a deep mirror-like quality contrasting with the frosted relief elements. |

Andorra's coinage authority during this period sat with the Episcopal Co-Princes — the Bishop of Urgell and the President of France — a feudal arrangement dating to the 1278 Paréage. Joan Martí i Alanis held the Urgell bishopric from 1971 until his death in 2009, and his name appears on numerous Andorran issues across those decades as the ecclesiastical co-issuing authority rather than as a subject of commemoration.
The 1999 date places this squarely in the run of millennial-themed religious issues that flooded the collector market that year from dozens of minting programs worldwide.
