| Obverse description | Effigy of King Abdullah I in traditional Arab headdress facing left, depicted holding the Independence Declaration scroll in his hand. The surrounding field bears an extensive Arabic legend comprising excerpts from the Independence Declaration of 1946, including the proclamation of Jordan as a fully independent state and expressions of loyalty to the Charter of National Unity and Arab ideals.
