A crescent and star device surmounts the shield at the top. Two decorative arabesque ornaments flank the shield in the left and right fields. Aanvullende informatie

The coup referenced here is the November 7, 1987 removal of Habib Bourguiba by Prime Minister Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, who declared the aging president medically unfit to govern and assumed power without a single shot fired. Ben Ali's government made November 7th a national celebration, commissioning commemorative issues at regular anniversaries — this piece marks the eighth. The series was struck with deliberate weight and fineness to appeal to the international collector market rather than domestic circulation.

KM#370 is among the later issues in the November 7th commemorative run before the series grew formulaic.
