| Obverse description | A portrait vignette of Abu Ali Hasan Ibn al-Haitham (Alhazen), the celebrated Arab mathematician, astronomer, and physicist of the Islamic Golden Age, occupies the right portion of the face. Arabic inscriptions identify the issuing authority and denomination, with guilloche underprint patterning across the field. Ibn al-Haitham, widely regarded as the father of modern optics, is honoured here in recognition of his foundational contributions to the science of visual perception. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a vignette of the Al-Hadba (Al-Habda) minaret of the Great Mosque of Al-Nuri in Mosul, Iraq, rendered in fine line engraving. The minaret's distinctive lean, which earned Mosul the epithet al-Ḥadbāˈ (the hunchback), is clearly rendered against an ornamental guilloche background. Arabic legends identifying the denomination and issuing bank frame the central vignette. |
