Obverse description The state emblem of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia occupies the central field, depicting a torch with a flame encircled by six sheaves of wheat bound at their bases with a ribbon inscribed with the founding date 29·XI·1943, surmounted by a five-pointed star. A beaded border runs along the inner rim. The bilingual legend arcs around the emblem, with the Cyrillic inscription СФР ЈУГОСЛАВИЈА along the upper periphery and the Latin equivalent SFR JUGOSLAVIJA along the lower, separated by small lozenge-shaped stops.
