Informazioni aggiuntive

Yugoslavia's 10 Dinara of this period circulated during the final years of Tito's rule and the turbulent succession crisis that followed his death in May 1980. The federal structure — six republics, two autonomous provinces, and a rotating presidency designed to prevent any single republic from dominating — was already straining by the late 1970s under rising inflation and mounting foreign debt. Coins from the 1980 and 1981 dates effectively entered circulation into an economy beginning its slow unraveling.

The copper-nickel-zinc ternary alloy was a cost-conscious departure from earlier Yugoslav coinage, adopted as hard currency reserves tightened.
