| Obverse description | Printed in blue on a polychrome underprint, in intaglio and lithography, the obverse centres on a portrait vignette of Manuel Ferraz de Campos Salles, 4th President of the Republic (1898–1902), flanked on either side by the numeral 10. A diagonal manuscript conference signature crosses the body of the note. In the upper-left and lower-right corners, blue overprint rosettes applied by the Casa da Moeda carry the inscription CASA DA MOEDA / 10 / CRUZEIROS, converting the original 10 Mil Réis denomination to 10 Cruzeiros. |
