| Obverse description | Left-facing crowned effigy of King George VI, modelled by Percy Metcalfe, whose initials 'PM' appear at the base of the truncation. The king wears the Imperial State Crown, rendered in fine detail with fleurs-de-lis, crosses pattée, and a beaded band. The surrounding legend reads 'GEORGE VI KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA', separated by a raised dot at the beginning, and the whole design is framed by a milled border of fine beads. |
