| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Arnold Machin, occupies the central field. The Queen is depicted with a tiara and draped bust, rendered in a refined, naturalistic sculptural style. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery and D·G·REGINA along the right, both in Latin characters. A fine beaded border encircles the entire design. |

| Reverse description | The central field features a finely detailed rendering of an Atlantic mackerel (Scomber scombrus) in profile, facing left, as designed by artist Alex Colville to commemorate the centennial of Canadian Confederation. The denomination 10 CENTS arcs along the upper periphery, while the legend CANADA 1867·1967 curves along the lower border, referencing the 100-year anniversary. A uniform beaded border frames the entire design. |
