Obverse description The complete coat of arms of Trinidad and Tobago occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing two hummingbirds and three sailing ships, supported on the dexter by a scarlet ibis and on the sinister by a cocrico. Above the shield rises a helm and a ship's wheel surmounted by two Trinidadian hummingbirds as a crest. A scroll at the base carries the national motto in raised Latin lettering: TOGETHER WE ASPIRE TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE.
