Obverse description Central round perforation surrounded by the monogram 'RF' (République Française) in large incuse letters, one character to each side of the hole. A decorative laurel and oak wreath frames the design, encircling the central motif and extending nearly to the coin's milled border. The composition is bold and symmetrical, characteristic of Lindauer's interwar Republican designs. The field is plain with no exergue inscription.

Reverse description The denomination '10' appears prominently to the left of the central perforation, with the abbreviated 'CMES' (centimes) to its right, flanking the hole. A stylised spread-winged Gallic rooster is depicted below the central perforation in low relief, rendered in Lindauer's characteristic Art Deco manner. The republican motto 'LIBERTÉ * ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ' arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border. The date '1939' is struck in the lower field, completing the reverse composition.
