Beschrijving keerzijde The large numeral '10' dominates the central field, with the digit '1' rendered against a background of bold diagonal parallel lines occupying the left portion of the coin. A stylized arc representing the Southern Cross constellation sweeps across the right field, accompanied by five small five-pointed stars. The denomination CENTAVOS is inscribed in a straight legend below the numeral, with the year of issue centered beneath it. A scroll-like device at the lower center evokes the Brazilian national banner. The overall design is clean and geometric, consistent with the standardized reverse design used across the Brazilian Real circulation series.

Aanvullende informatie

This type entered circulation under the Plano Real, Brazil's 1994 monetary reform that finally broke the back of chronic hyperinflation after years of failed stabilization attempts — the Cruzeiro, Cruzado, and Cruzado Novo had all collapsed before it. The longevity of this issue, spanning a quarter century without fundamental redesign, reflects the Real's unusual durability by Brazilian historical standards.

The three catalog variants (KM#649, 649.2, 649.3) document incremental die and planchet adjustments made across the production run at the Casa da Moeda do Brasil in Rio de Janeiro.
