正面描述 The obverse is printed in black on cream paper, with a vignette at the left of a female allegorical figure wearing a winged helmet, rendered in fine intaglio engraving. The bank title 'El Banco Garantizador' appears in large ornate script across the upper centre, with the numeral '10' set within a decorative guilloche panel at the upper right. The lower portion bears the denomination 'DIEZ CENTAVOS' in bold letterpress, the place and date of issue 'Lima, Setiembre 1° de 1876', a manuscript signature above the printed title 'El Gerente', and the printer's imprint of Compañía Nacional de Billetes de Banco, Nueva York.

备注

The Banco Garantizador was one of several private banks authorized to issue currency in the Dominican Republic during the 1870s, a period of chronic fiscal instability and shifting political control. The fractional centavo denominations in this series were a direct response to the acute shortage of small-change coins in everyday circulation — a problem that plagued the country repeatedly throughout the nineteenth century.

The National Bank Note Company, at that time one of the dominant security printers in North America, handled the contract. Their Dominican work from this period is relatively uncommon in surviving collections, as the issuing banks themselves were short-lived.
