| Obverse description | Central square hole flanked by four large Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu), reading clockwise from top: 至 (zhì), 通 (tōng), 寶 (bǎo), 正 (zhèng), forming the reign-title legend 至正通寶 (Zhizheng Tongbao). The characters are boldly rendered with well-defined strokes, occupying the four quadrants of the broad, flat field. The coin exhibits a wide, plain rim encircling the design, typical of Yuan dynasty cast coinage. |
