| Obverse description | Central square hole (穿) surrounded by a plain raised rim and four Chinese clerical-script characters arranged in cruciform order reading clockwise from top: 乾 (Qian), 封 (Feng), 泉 (Quan), 寶 (Bao), forming the reign-era inscription 乾封泉寶. The flat fields between the characters are unadorned, consistent with Tang dynasty cast-bronze cash coinage. The outer raised rim is well-defined and borders the entire obverse face. |
