| Obverse description | Central field bears four large Chinese ideograms arranged to be read top to bottom, right to left, denoting the reign title Guangxu and the denomination. Manchu script characters are positioned above the central ideograms, flanking the design. A circular band of Chinese ideograms surrounds the central device, reading the minting authority (Ministry of Revenue), the issuing state (Great Qing), the material (copper), the denomination (ten cash/wen), and the Hunan mint attribution. The cyclical date characters 丙午, corresponding to the 32nd year of Guangxu (1906), appear within the legend. The overall design reflects the standardised milled coinage format adopted under the late Qing imperial monetary reforms. |
