| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features a central panel bearing four Chinese ideograms arranged to be read top to bottom, right to left, flanking Manchu script characters in the centre field. A surrounding inner legend composed of additional Chinese ideograms encircles the central inscription, detailing the denomination, province of issue, and reign title of the Guangxu Emperor. The entire design is enclosed within a plain inner border and a beaded outer border. The script is rendered in relief against a flat field, consistent with the milled coinage of the late Qing provincial mint production. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a coiled Chinese imperial dragon in high relief at the centre, its sinuous body occupying the majority of the inner field, with a flaming pearl depicted beneath its claws at the lower centre. The dragon's head faces left, with detailed scales, whiskers, and flame motifs rendered in the provincial late Qing style. A beaded inner border separates the central dragon design from the outer English legend. The inscription 'SHANTUNG TEN CASH' arcs around the upper and lower periphery, with small floral or rosette ornaments flanking the dragon on either side. The outer rim is defined by a raised border consistent with the milled production technique. |
