| Beschrijving voorzijde | Cast copper cash coin featuring four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in cruciform fashion around a central square hole, read in the traditional sequence top-bottom-right-left. The characters 道光通寶 (Daoguang Tongbao) are rendered in bold relief against a flat field, with 道 at the top, 寶 at the bottom, 通 to the right, and 光 to the left of the central perforation. A wide plain rim encircles the coin. The casting is typical of Xinjiang provincial workmanship of the Daoguang period. |

| Opschrift voorzijde | 道 寶 通 光 (Translation: Dao Guang Tong Bao Daoguang (Emperor) / Universal currency) |
| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse bears a multilingual legend in three scripts surrounding the central square hole, consistent with Xinjiang mint coinage practice of the Qing dynasty. Two Chinese characters 八年 (Ba Nian, meaning 'Year 8') appear above the hole, and 十 (Shi, meaning '10') appears below. To the left is the Manchu script rendering of 'Aksu' (ᠠᡴᠰᡠ), and to the right is the Arabic script Uyghur rendering اقسو (Aqsu), both identifying the Aksu mint. The combination of Chinese, Manchu, and Uyghur legends is characteristic of coinage struck at the southern Xinjiang mints during the Daoguang reign. |
