| Opmerkingen |
El Banco Agrícola was established in Bolivia in the early 1890s to channel agricultural credit into a sector that the major commercial banks largely ignored. By 1903, when this note was issued, the bank was operating under serious liquidity constraints — Bolivia's rubber and tin export revenues were concentrated in institutions with closer ties to La Paz's financial establishment, leaving agricultural lenders perpetually undercapitalized.
Bradbury Wilkinson printed a wide range of Latin American provincial and sectoral bank issues during this period, often working from modular plate designs adapted across multiple clients. Whether this note shares design elements with other BW commissions from the same years is worth examining against comparable South American issues in the series.
