Additional information

Venezuela introduced this zinc-aluminium variant partway through the 10 Bolívares series to replace the earlier nickel-clad steel issues — a quiet compositional shift driven by fluctuating metal costs as the country's oil revenues grew increasingly unstable under political pressure. The non-magnetic characteristic is the only reliable field test distinguishing it from its predecessor, and misattribution in bulk lots is common.
