Issued to mark the 90th birthday of Princess Mother Srinagarindra, who by 1990 had outlived two of her three sons — including King Ananda Mahidol, who died under deeply contested circumstances in 1946. She remained one of the most genuinely revered figures in twentieth-century Thai public life, her medical and rural development work through the Mae Fah Luang Foundation carrying more political weight than most official commemorations acknowledge.
