Additional information

Issued to mark the centenary of Thailand's Ministry of the Interior, founded in 1892 under Prince Damrong Rajanubhab, who restructured provincial administration so thoroughly that his framework remained essentially intact for most of the twentieth century. The ministry's first century coincided with Thailand's navigation of colonial pressure from both Britain and France, making its administrative consolidation a matter of national survival as much as governance.
