The outer ring bears the Moscow Mint mark (ММД) at upper left, the denomination 10 ҦСАРК, the year of issue 2013, the metal designation Ag 925, and the weight 31.1 g arranged in the upper arc. The Bank of Abkhazia emblem appears to the right, while the inscription in Abkhaz script АҦСНЫ АБАНК occupies the lower mirror-finish field. A beaded border runs along the full circumference, separating the inner disc from the outer ring. |

Soslan Sosnaliev commanded Abkhazian forces during the 1992–1993 war against Georgia, a conflict that ended with Abkhazia securing de facto independence — recognised by almost no one outside Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and a handful of Pacific island states. The Bank of Abkhazia issues coins like this one into a monetary environment where the Russian ruble does the actual work of commerce; these pieces are struck for collectors and diplomatic purposes, not circulation.
The apsar denomination itself was revived specifically for commemorative coinage, named after a medieval unit of account used in the region.
