Kazakhstan's shift to polymer for the 10,000 Tenge came as part of a broader modernization push by the Ulttyk Bank, following years of experimentation with hybrid and cotton-paper substrates in lower denominations. The move to polymer at this denomination level is notable — most central banks introduce the substrate at smaller values first and take years to migrate upward. Kazakhstan compressed that timeline considerably.
P#50 sits at the top of the current circulating series. Polymer notes from this mint cycle are still entering circulation, meaning truly unhandled examples are easy to find — which keeps collector premiums negligible for now.
