Reverse description At center, within a beaded inner circle, appears the draped bust of Tupac Amaru II rendered in high relief, facing slightly left, depicted wearing a traditional Andean poncho and an ornate circular medallion pendant at the chest. His long hair flows freely behind him. The legend QVINTO CENTENARIO arcs across the upper field, with the Madrid mint mark (M) to the lower left and the assayer mark to the lower right of the beaded circle. The denomination 10000 PTAS is inscribed along the base within the beaded border, commemorating the Fifth Centennial of the Discovery of America.
