| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Chad rendered in high relief at center, displaying a chevron-patterned shield surmounted by a radiant sun, supported by a goat rampant to the left and a lion rampant to the right, both standing upon a decorative scroll bearing the national motto UNITE TRAVAIL PROGRES. The central design is set against a background of large dragon scales in low relief, visible at the upper and lower margins.
