The BCEAO's 10 000 franc note was the highest denomination in regular circulation across the eight-member West African Economic and Monetary Union during this period, covering a vast and economically heterogeneous zone from Senegal to Togo. The rotating national signatories on the left — representing the local central bank directors of member states — explain the unusually long signature list for a single Pick number.
