| 背面描述 | A left-facing draped bust of the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés dominates the field, depicted wearing an ornate period morion helmet adorned with a star motif and featuring a broad curved brim with upswept horns. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail on the gorget and flowing hair. The legend CORTES arcs in widely spaced capitals along the upper periphery, while the date 2024 appears in the lower exergue. |

Liberia has issued commemorative gold under its own authority since the 1960s, though the country operates no functioning mint of its own — production is invariably contracted to private minting houses in Europe, most commonly in Germany or Austria. These issues circulate exclusively among collectors and bear no relationship to Liberian domestic commerce.
Cortés remains a deeply contested figure; his 1521 defeat of Tenochtitlan killed tens of thousands and ended the Aztec empire within two years of his first entering the city as a guest.
