| Obverse description | Printed in dark brown on a salmon-pink underprint, the obverse is dominated by a central rectangular vignette enclosed within an ornate letterpress border of interlocking geometric and hatched patterns. The denomination 'ZEHN MILLIONEN MARK' is set in large Gothic blackletter type at the centre of the vignette, above a three-line text block in smaller script stating the issuing authority, place, and date of issue (Düsseldorf, den 1. September 1923), followed by the legend 'Landesbank der Rheinprovinz General-Direktion' and a manuscript signature. The inscription 'LANDESBANK DER RHEINPROVINZ' repeats in large red letterpress along the top and bottom margins, flanked by symmetrical diamond-shaped ornamental devices at left and right. |
