Reverse description Printed in dark brown and red, the reverse centres on a bold woodcut-style vignette of Emperor Frederick I 'Barbarossa' enthroned, rendered in an Expressionist graphic manner with heavy line work; the emperor is shown full-face, crowned and sceptred, surrounded by a flock of eagles in flight. The denomination '10 Millionen Mark' appears in large red numerals on both the left and right sides, flanked by crosshatch-pattern guilloche panels.
